BFC Faces Three Challenges!

First: Add the remaining 54 Bible stories in 400 languages. In other words, 21,600 Bible stories.  (Cost of one million dollars without volunteers.)

Second: Obtain audio recordings for these languages

Third:  Add more new languages.  About 200 new languages are needed to reach the people groups with between 500,000 and 1,000,000 members. [About 900 more languages to reach people groups of 100,000 to 500,000 members.]

We plan to start with completing all 60 Bible stories in 34 languages. Volunteers would be fantastic, but we will probably have to pay minimal rates to Christian translators. We anticipate a cost of $50,000 for this first step.  We ask you to pray with us that God will supply the necessary resources to realize all His good purposes through Bible for Children. 

Starting at Home

Each year Union Gospel Mission, with the help of Faith Academy, distributes flyers to thousands of homes in the inner city of Winnipeg.  Families are invited to register their children for an excellent education in a Christian school.  This year, our Bible story booklets were also distributed, and went to about 9,000 homes.  These booklets contain 6 Bible stories telling the true history of the world from Creation to Heaven.  Please pray that the Holy Spirit would draw many to the Saviour.

Social Media

After 2 or 3 years, we have made a return to social media.  Every week, news goes out about one of our 450 languages, and asking for prayer for those who speak that language.  Also every week, one of our 160 children’s devotionals is sent to FaceBook, Twitter, Instagram and our Blog.  The purpose is to draw people to our website to read our Bible stories.  We have also just ventured into the TikTok universe, in a different way, as there are over a billion users.  Please pray that many more children (and adults) will be drawn to Bible for Children, and will read the Good News about faith in Christ.

Annual General Meeting

‍Our AGM was held on July 26th.  All necessary motions were passed, and we rejoiced at what God has done this past year.  There are many amazing opportunities before us.  Please pray that we will know the priorities on God’s heart.

‍Heart to Heart

It has been 40 years!  All of our children have grown up.  And even their children have grown up.  We so much enjoyed hosting Bible clubs for children 40 years ago, and still hear of children who were saved at those clubs and have gone on with the Lord.  

We have reached out to adults here at our apartment block, including a Bible study for a couple of years.  But lately we noticed children running about here and there – so what about them?  

We finally called Child Evangelism, and they came last week with a 5 Day Club, The Great Australian Tour. Paper kangaroos everywhere.  Pictures of Australian animals taken by our daughter on her own Australian tour. A team of young girls bringing singing, missionary stories, Bible lessons and Bible verses.  How great to have 6 lively children learning about Jesus, and hopefully coming to know Him!  Hey, I almost feel 30 again :)  Greg
