1000 Languages

There are now about 300 languages added to our website, for a total of over 750 languages. We have progressed more quickly than we expected, but now are taking time to evaluate many things we have been learning. We thank Jesus for His leading - and please continue to pray for us.

When we add a language to our website, we also add a link to an online Bible in that language. To our surprise, a ministry called ‘Faith Comes By Hearing’ has added audio to many of the online Bibles. And they have also added a couple of video scenes to some of them (from the Jesus movie that has been translated into more than 2000 languages). It is exciting to see ministries pulling together for the sake of the Gospel. In fact, at the Bible Conference we attended in Thailand, working together (instead of “ protecting” our own resources) was a major theme.

Hello friends. I heard about you on LifeTalk radio. After visiting your website I see that you offer children Bible stories in a whopping 682 languages! I would like to know more about your ministry. I’m constantly looking for new ways to share the Gospel, and I have a few questions for you, and explore possibilities for working together.

Tonga

I am a teacher working in the Kingdom of Tonga in Polynesia and am in the process of developing a children’s reading app for the Tongan language. There is very little reading material available in Tongan, but I think your stories are great, especially because Tongan is a devoutly Christian nation.

I work with a Christian ministry based in Northern Ireland that is putting together a Christian digital resource for women and children in India. We would love permission to include some of your Hindi language children’s content, especially the colouring pages and stories. Can we please have permission to use them?

‍The Bible for Children website continues to be very busy. About 2.3 million Bible stories were viewed from January to June. Here are the top 40 languages with proportional viewing from all countries of the world.

Examples of added languages

Someone has described the Christian life as mountains and valleys. I am usually on a mountain, but slipped into a valley of anxiety a couple of months ago. According to many Bible teachers, we learn more of the Lord and draw nearer to Him in the valleys. I admit I would rather be on a mountain, yet I am spending more time with the Lord in the valley. I am thankful the Lord is lifting me out of the valley, and I do hope and plan to spend more time with Him on the mountain.

My heart goes out to any of His children in the valley right now, whether anxieties, fears, depression, living situation, etc. I pray that Jesus will bless you and encourage you and bring you through, as He has promised. And thank you for praying for me.
