200 New Languages On The Way!

As we approach 200 languages on our website, we are already praying and planning for the next 200 languages. We know the names of these next 200 languages, but where do we go to find translators? We believe United Bible Societies with offices in over 100 countries will be a huge part of the answer.
UBS has helped us in the past, and now we are contacting their offices around the world. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in UBS to see the vision of reaching children in their own countries. Some have already agreed to work with us.

And of course there is a need for the provision of funds necessary for this huge expansion. We do not ask our prayer supporters for funds, but we have asked many Christian foundations here in Canada to join with us. Please pray these foundations will see the vision of reaching boys and girls around the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you!

Good News from Macedonia

Bible for Children is now providing Bible stories for the children in Macedonia. There are 2 million people who speak Macedonian. This picture from The First Easter shows the Macedonian text. Please pray for Macedonia.

Tract Mission Closing

For many years, Evangelical Tract Distributors in Edmonton, Canada, has partnered with Bible for Children in producing and helping distribute millions of BFC Bible story tracts in many languages. Countless children in the Americas, Asia, Europe, Africa and Australia benefited from this partnership. John Harder, who has served the Lord through ETD for the past 57 years, recently reported that ETD will ‘close its doors’ on the last day of 2018.

ETD, a work of faith was started in 1935 by Orban Stout. In the ensuing 83 years, ETD has produced millions of tracts every year in English, as well as many other languages.

The closing of ETD required decisions about what to do with the stock of over 400,000 BFC story tracts in 20 major languages. Working together, ETD and BFC have found individuals and organizations ministering to the various people groups who will, through these tracts, be able to read in their mother-tongue about the love of God in Christ Jesus.

Pray for God’s blessing on each tract. And do pray for these dear brothers and sisters who have served the Lord so faithfully and well at ETD. “God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name.”

BFC Board is deliberating on the degree to which BFC will continue providing printed materials. All stories and materials on the website are down-loadable by the end user.

Indonesia: I work on oil palm plantation. Many people in this village are catholik and live in the village far from town and the only one way to get there is by river, without an electrical and cellular access. I usually teach them a little, but a child love to see a book full of picture. About 100 km from here there is a postal office. I hope you can send me several book. Afrimsa

Romania: I am very interested in Bibles for Children in Romanian language as in Romania is a high demand of them. I have been involved in distributing Bibles in Romania for a while and praise God that we have discovered your web-page. Could you please send 3,000 copies each of When God Made Everything, The Start of Mans Sadness and The Birth of Jesus. Barbu

Prayer and Praise

Praise God for another year of faithfulness in enabling BFC to share Jesus with the world’s children.

Pray that God will bring many children to new life through faith in Jesus as they read in one of the almost 200 languages.

Pray for our friends and co-workers at Evangelical Tract Distributors as they go on to serve God in new ways.

Praise God for the generous gift from a local Christian Foundation that enabled nine more languages to be translated.

Pray for the staff, Board members, and all volunteers serving the Lord and the world’s children through this ministry.

Was I included when God sent
His angels to proclaim the Blessed birth to all the earth?
May I call on His Name?

Heart to Heart

As I have been attending and sometimes preaching at funerals lately, I have again been reminded of the brevity of life. Those dear ones were not long ago little children, just beginning to explore the wonders of life, seeking to find their way in this broken world. Some of them found the way, the truth and the life. Others did not.

So I think of those just at the beginning stage, the ones who are wondering why they are here, where they came from, and where they are going. Dear brothers and sisters, we who have the answer should do all in our power to tell them the truth. And we should tell them in their own language.

This has been a great year of presenting Jesus to precious children in more and more languages. Thank you for praying. Thank you for giving. Thank you for loving the children. And may the Lord greatly expand the Bible story languages in 2019. Greg
