YouVersion

YouVersion is a free Bible App with over 1,000 Bible versions. The App is available for Apple and Android devices, and can also be called up by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. In fact, it is available on over 380 million devices.

Bible for Children has signed an agreement with YouVersion for the provision of 7-day devotion plans based upon our Bible stories. The first eight languages are already in process, with the goal of providing devotion plans in around 60 languages that are currently supported by YouVersion.

Please pray for a great response to this exciting initiative. We will report the initial results in the next PrayerLink.

MegaVoice

This Israeli company provides solar-powered audio devices to Christian ministries in 150 countries. BFC has signed an agreement to provide audio Bible stories to MegaVoice, which will then be available to over 1.5 million MegaVoice devices. Amharic and English are the two initial languages.

Please pray for BFC as we seek to produce our Bible stories in audio in as many languages as possible. As you can imagine, this is a major undertaking, requiring major resources.

194 Languages

There are now 194 languages on our website. All glory to God! Currently we are partnering mostly with United Bible Societies and World Bible League to work toward our next goal of 425 languages. Children would then be able to hear about Jesus in every language group with over one million people. Two million Bible stories have been viewed on our website for the first 6 months of 2019. The Top 50 languages are listed in the chart.

Good News from Peru

Bible for Children is soon providing Bible stories for children in Mozambique who speak Chopi. There are .8 million people that speak this language. This picture from Heaven God’s Beautiful Home shows the Chopi text. Please pray for Mozambique.

Editor’s Note: The following request came in 2005. Besides Portuguese, Sena and Chopi, there are almost a dozen other languages widely spoken in Mozambique.

Mozambique: I’m writing because I’m curious about the possibility of having the stories translated into our tribal language here which is Sena. The children in the village here (and most of the adults) only speak Sena. I have three native Sena speakers on my team, so we could actually do the translation and send it to you. I’d appreciate it if you would let me know what you think. Thanks again--these books and pictures are great. Sheryl

Praise & Prayer 

Prayer: Regarding Tract Ministry Partnership. Since Evangelical Tract Distributors closed their doors, we are sensing the need to partner with another tract ministry (or several) to provide printed Bible stories around the world. We will soon be approaching a few ministries, and ask for your prayer support. There is definitely a great need for printed literature in many parts of the world. Pray for God’s leading as we pursue this need.

Praise God for all the languages posted so far — giving opportunity to link the knowledge of Jesus with potentially millions of the world’s children.

Do plan to attend the annual Banquet. It is a time of sweet fellowship and rejoicing together in the glorious things God is doing through Bible For Children.

Heart to Heart

When God opens doors, we must step through.  And when He opens 3 major doors at the same time, we must still step through!  We are very conscious of how weak we are, yet we are learning more of how great is our God!

Mary-Anne and I are heading out West for a wedding and for visiting family.  Many of them do not yet know the Savior, and we are thankful for an opportunity to love them and witness where we can.  However, I will still be on my computer during that time, leading BFC through those 3 open doors.

We will also be picking up a few thousand Bible story booklets in Vancouver and bringing them back to Winnipeg.  I am thankful for the large capacity of our Dodge Caravan.

Please pray for us to be bold with the Gospel, and that some might be saved.  Greg
