A Bold Initiative ContinuesBFC joyfully reports the number of Bible story languages now tops 160. Added recently (number of million speakers in brackets) are Croatian (6), Georgian (4), Slovak (5), Danish (6), Catalan (4), Twi (9), Kikuyu (7) , Kyrghiz (4), Wolof (4) and Laotian (25). Our current goal is to provide Bible stories in all languages with one million or more speakers, which is over 400 languages. Please pray for open doors and funding ($500 per language) for this initiative. BFC Jumps into Social MediaFor many years, BFC has communicated with its supporters through the PrayerLink. Good News from the Bible(sample from the new weekly blog)A little child shall lead them. Isaiah 11:6 “Well, did He tell you what He wants you to do with it?” asked his surprised father. Dad became very quiet. Later that day, Billy was listening to a Christian radio program. He heard a message about helping others and suddenly he knew what he had to do. He rushed over to his Dad’s room. “Daddy, Daddy, now I know what I should do! I should help to pay for Robert’s camp this year.” Then his face clouded. “I don’t think five dollars is enough.” “Five dollars is exactly the right amount,” Dad said. “I was thinking about Robert’s camp registration too. I checked the money in my wallet and I was exactly five dollars short.” That evening, Dad took Billy over to the church and they paid the camp fee. “Don’t forget, Billy, we are giving this money to the Lord, not to Robert. This is called a church sponsorship and nobody else needs to hear about our part in it.” Although Dad smiled, his tone was serious. When the family prayed together that evening, Dad gave thanks that God had spoken to his heart through Billy. And Billy felt so happy that his friend could now go to camp. |

Good News from NepalChildren in Nepal are now enjoying Bible stories in their own language. Because of a severe lack of materials, a dear brother in Christ who works in Nepal is printing out the coloring book style of the stories so the children also have fun coloring the stories as they learn about Jesus. The sample below may seem unsophisticated, but the truth of God’s Word can be taught and reinforced in many ways. “The entrance of Your Words gives light.” (Psalm 119:130.) Please pray for Nepal.

Mail from Around the WorldEthiopia: I am a born-again Christian and have been serving in the kingdom of God for many years. I work with children in the area of Sunday school in Addis Ababa. Would you please give me advice and material and help me develop my plan to be workable and make my vision come true to contribute something good in the kingdom of God. Musie Peru: A month ago we received the leaflets. Thank you. Each day we evangelize children and adults with these materials. Please send more. Percy Uganda: So happy to find this website!!! There is hardly any Bible material that I can find in Luganda, but you have 6 children's Bible stories!!! May I please make copies and give to the children? Kym (Editor. Of course we said yes.) Republic of Congo: Our country has known a decade of political crises. There is a spiritual blockade, almost no way to strengthen the Christian faith. The spiritual famine is so great, while tons of unhealthy literature and religions or occult sciences are abundant in this city. We have decided to put up a centre for Christian literature. We also want to evangelize children to bring them to the Lord. Please send us Christian literature. Charma Note: Emails were also received from Indonesia, Romania, Japan, Malawi, |

Heart to HeartOur travels over the past couple of months have taken us to Florida and Ottawa, and back to Winnipeg. My favorite activity in all these places has been shopping. Shopping? Yes, because every time I buy something, I give a Bible story booklet along with the money. In fact, if someone even helps me find something, I give them a booklet. Over 300 dear people received a Bible story over this time. Almost everyone is happy to receive a booklet. And I am happy to pray to our Father to save them. That little booklet gives an overview of the whole history of the world, and makes it clear why we need a Saviour. It then ends with a Gospel challenge. I have no doubt I will meet many of these dear souls in eternity. So as you pray for Mary-Anne and me, and for BFC, please lift up those people who personally receive a Bible story. And, if you want to start a new habit, why not ask for a few of these Bible Booklets (free while stocks last) and make it your habit to pass them on to other people in your daily life. It’s a double blessing — giver and receiver are both blessed. Greg |

Prayer & PraisePraise God Who has enabled us to present the Bible Stories in 162 languages. Pray we will soon reach the four hundred plus languages that represent all world languages with more than 1 million speakers. Pray for each of the countries represented in our Mail From Around The World column. It is evident that God is at work and BFC is privileged to have a crucial part in many countries. The names of those who write represent brothers and sisters serving Christ in difficult places. What a joy to be linked to them in serving our dear Lord. Pray for the BFC Board and staff as they seek God’s leading in future steps. There are millions of children in the world who have never heard of Jesus. For their sake we must ‘lengthen our cords and strengthen our stakes.’ (Isaiah 54:2.) |
