The hair of his head began to grow again. Judges 16:22

Samson disobeyed God.

The great strength God gave him left when his hair was cut.  Samson should not have been where he was, doing what he was doing.

Disobedience to God always ends in tragedy.

But Samson's hair began to grow again.  He remembered God.  When Samson prayed to God, God gave Samson his old strength back again.  Samson was able to destroy God's enemies.

It's always good to stop disobeying and pray to God for help.

Prayer: Lord, please help me to obey You today and always.  Amen.

They are like the new grass in the morning. Psalm 90:5

How long is our life?  It seems a long time, but really it isn't.

If we think of some types of moths which are born, live and die all in the space of one day, we say, 'Their lifetime is only a day.'

Our lifetime is longer than these moths.  But, it won't last forever in this world.

We thank God that Heaven comes next for all who trust and worship Jesus Christ.  Are you heading for Heaven?

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for life here and life hereafter.  Amen.

He makes grass grow for the cattle. Psalm 104:14

Who feeds the cattle?  And the wild ponies?  And all the grass-eating animals in the world?

Not the rancher!  Not the farmer!  Only God can cause the grass to grow.

If God ever stopped giving life to the grass which is food for the cattle, people would starve too.

All of us, men, women, children, animals, depend upon God's provision every day.

The animals aren't able to thank God for their food.  But we are!  Do you?

Prayer: Thank You, God, for daily bread - and all the extra good things we enjoy. Amen.

The child Samuel grew before the Lord. 1 Samuel 2:21

Samuel's mother, Hannah, promised God she would give her son to His service.

That meant Samuel left home at a very young age to work in the temple.  Perhaps he often missed his family.  But God surely used Samuel to be a great help to the people of Israel.

One missionary left his home and family to help jungle people who had never heard that God loves them.  He often missed his family, but his obedience to God's call meant that many jungle people learned about God's love.

Prayer: Lord, help me to obey Your will, whatever it may be - for Jesus sake.  Amen.

Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Peter 3:18

How much have you grown in the past year?  An inch?  Three inches?  A foot?

One boy's Aunt noticed her nephew had grown another foot since last summer - so she gave him a third sock!

That's only a joke; but we should all be growing, not just in height but also in our Christian life.  God's Word commands us to.

How do we grow spiritually?  By taking in God's Word; obeying God's Word; and trusting in Jesus for all our needs.

Are you growing in your Christian life?

Prayer: Thank You, Father, for giving me all I need to grow in my Christian life.  Amen.
