Matthew 19:14

Jesus said,“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

PRAYER & PRAISE

Thank You, Lord for the love and fellowship of Your people who share the burden of reaching the world’s children with the life-bringing Gospel of our dear Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. BFC APPS

An ‘App’ is an application, typically a small, specialized program downloaded onto mobile devices. While BFC has been trying to make an App for all tablets and smart phones, more and more people have been downloading our Bible stories to these devices without an App. In fact, around 20% of our downloads now go to these mobile devices.

This has happened because Adobe recently made a free reader for all these devices (Adobe makes the free reader for PCs).

We wanted to have one BFC App for all tablets and smart phones. We also wanted to maintain a tight control over the product. The Board of Bible for Children has decided to open the door to individuals who want to make free Apps, and give them guidelines as to what we would like the App to do. Now we are opening up everything to the creativity of fellow believers.

One person is already working on an App for Android devices. We also asked the YouVersion Bible people to include our Bible stories on their App.

Please pray for great results.

More New Languages

Translators, especially in Africa and India, are working on new languages, which are being added weekly to the website. Sema (India), Rongmei (India), Yoruba (Nigeria), Kinyarwanda (Rwanda), and Sinhalese (Sri Lanka) have increased our total to 88 languages, and another 9 are close to completion.

The latest additions all use English characters, which simplifies working with them. We are having difficulty with the fonts for some languages, such as the Bhojpuri language (India), and request your prayers for us with these issues.

We will soon need to redesign the home page on our website to help people find a language more easily.

When Do People Visit BFC?

You may be interested to see when visitors from around the world (and from all time zones) come to our website.

Here is a chart showing unique visitors to our website for the first two weeks of September. The numbers are fairly consistent day by day, except for an increase on Saturdays.

The daily average of visitors for our website for the whole month of September is 14,773, an increase of 25 percent from last September.

Mail from around the world

United Arab Emirates: Praise The Lord. I came upon your website and thank you Jesus for showing us this site on Bible for Children. I must say is beautiful. We stay in Dubai, UAE. On to the subject on this e-mail. I downloaded your pdf stories files and as well the colouring files from your website. We would like to print and give for free to children attending the retreat to colour while there and take home as well. Also we would love to make an animated film of the stories with music and voice over. Hence we can play and show the children while the retreat is on. May the Lord be with you everyday. God Bless. Love always, Sanjay.

Lord to Thee
Mexico: We have served in Mexico for 13 years, We are from Didsbury, Alberta. I also produce Sunday school curriculum, with a team here. I just came across your site and love your stories, I think that they would be perfect for our 3-7 year old range. I was wondering how I could incorporate them into what we produce, giving you credit of course. It is frustrating to recreate the wheel when somebody has already done such a good job. What we offer here is a bin with every thing in it a church would need to do the Sunday school program. All scripture verses are written on material, etc. We then rent the material for a very low price, and give the money back when the church returns it and rent it out to another group. I would love to hear more from you. Blessings, Shelli.

USA: I really like the Bible stories. However, not having Internet at church makes it impossible to use my iPad to do the stories. Do you have this printed with the illustrations for purchase . I would like to use it for grades 4-6 in children's church. Thank you! Kay.
(Editor’s note: we let her know how to download the stories so she could use them without the Internet.)

Zambia: Good Day. I recently started teaching sunday school and im looking for material that i can use to teach them. I like your stories alot and the kids enjoy them alot as well. Thank you for simpifing the bible for them. Thank you. Nisha. (Editor’s note: Printed as received.)

Heart to Heart

Recently my wife and I traveled to Western Canada by car. We both have family out there, and we had a wonderful time with them, loving them for Jesus. I broke a rule I have about not picking up hitchhikers, so as we drove through the beautiful mountains, we conversed for a couple of hours with a young man from the Isle of Wight. I shared my testimony with him, and we delivered him to his destination. May he read the Gospel of John we gave him, and come to know Christ as his Savior.

Let us be thankful for every opportunity the Lord brings our way to glorify Him. Greg V

An Encouraging Time
It was a joy once again to meet many dear friends at BFC 2013 annual meeting and banquet. Exciting reports were given, and Becky Hill provided inspiring music. Ed Hughes was a hit again this year, not only for his Scottish jokes, but with a heart rending song he wrote specially for the occasion.

(Melody: Brahm’s Lullaby.).
Lord You know, everywhere,
Children cry out in darkness;
In their night, without light,
They have never heard of You.
Long ago Your dear Son
Died to bring life to all;
Here and now, show us how
we can sound Your love call.

Children die, or they live
and grow up without Jesus;
Without hope, they must cope
In a world that’s lost its way;
Help us care, help us dare
bear the bright Gospel flame
To be true, serving You
Sharing Jesus’ great Name.
