2014 First Quarter Report
We are praising God that about 1.5 million Bible stories were downloaded in the first 3 months this year. The top 15 languages were English, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian, French, Chinese, Dutch, Arabic, Tagalog, Finnish, Romanian, German, Japanese, Bulgarian, and Russian. All of these languages, except Romanian, have all 60 Bibles stories on our website, which underscores the importance of completing the 60 stories in every language.
Pray for Christian workers who are using BFC materials to reach children for the Lord. The names of some of these dear co-workers are found in the section Mail From Around the World.
Praise God for the great breakthrough in Indian and other Asian languages. The potential outreach is in the hundreds of millions.
Pray for wisdom and guidance for the BFC Board and for the (presently volunteer) Executive Director, that God’s will may be done in staffing decisions.
Give thanks to the Lord for all His goodness!

We have been praying for a way to complete all 60 Bible stories in the major world languages, and the Lord has granted us a beginning. A BFC supporter, a key contact in India, and 15 translators are joining forces with us to complete all 60 Bible stories in 12 Indian languages, plus Vietnamese, Thai and Azerbaijani. The first 6 Bible stories in each language are already on the BFC website.
These 15 languages combined have 1.2 billion speakers, of which over 400 million are children.
India plans to distribute millions of tablet computers to their children through the educational system. This program has already started. Please pray that these children and countless others across the world will discover and read these 60 Bible stories in their own language—and be brought to Jesus.

India: Thank you for your ministry to teach word of God through bible stories among the children. My name is Darwin from India. I am pastor. In my church we have Bible Club, gathering 55 children from christian and non-christian families. I found this site for downloading stories for children. It is very useful for us. Every week we are teaching a story. Thank you for your commitment to do GOD' s ministry in different ways. We are praying for you.
Tanzania: Thank you for your quick and kind response to our needs. Our programs are evangelistic. When the children are in sessions, their parents are studying the bible in another room with the local preacher. A parent is supposed to attend two Wed-nesday night service a month and attend at least one Sunday worship a month. I hope that by explaining that you may understand our need. For our 45 children, we need stories on; the creation, the flood, Abraham, Moses, King David. Jesus, Apostles. Willy.
Guatemala: (translated from Spanish) Thank you in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ, for your love for his word and the children. I've used this material many times with the children of the Church. God bless you and reward you greatly! Dr. Juan.
Special Requests (Two of many)
USA: Thank you so much for creating these familiar Bible stories in pictorial format and allowing us to download / share them with children! It is certainly a blessing! I sponsor a Compassion International child in Brazil, so I have printed two of the colored “folhetos” and mailed them to my sponsored child over the past couple of months. I really like the “folheto” format because it prints out on just two pages, and I can glue them together and fold them in half to create the story. Of the 60 Bible stories available in Portuguese, it looks like you’ve been able to create 6 “folheto” versions. (I’ll be sending my sponsored child a third story soon.) Do you plan to create “folheto” versions of the other Portuguese stories as well? Thanks so much! Nicole.
England: I love the cartoons on your website. I have realised that many people do not know even the basic bible stories. I would like to print them to include with our parish magazine each month. Hoping that some children (and adults) may read them. The most useful form for me would be the 'tract' as I would not want more than both sides of A4 paper. Unfortunately not many stories come in that form. If you were able to get all the stories into that form (please) I would be most grateful. Christine.
[Note: We are working to complete all Bible stories in both of the above formats.]
Please pray that Bible For Children will be given the staff time and resources to be able to provide such requests as we partner with people all around the world who share our burden that more and more of the world’s children will be brought to the Saviour.

Television Bible Stories can reach behind the walls. |

There are many ‘Stans’ (Afghanistan, etc) where children need to hear the Gospel. We are working with a ministry that creates television programming for one of these Stans. We provide our Bible stories in a special format, and the other ministry translates them into the language. A one hour video is produced, which includes a Bible story as part of the programming. The program is viewed by 5 million people every week! The vision is to produce similar material for all the Stans. We are amazed at the creativity of Christians around the world in finding new ways to use our Bible stories. Please pray for the expansion of this ministry to all of the Stans, many of which belonged to the former Soviet Union, and most of whom are Muslim.
Video Bible Stories
Grandmothers are now making video Bible stories for their grandchildren! This is very easy to do with today’s smartphones. Parents or Grandparents simply record themselves reading a BFC Bible story, and then upload it to YouTube. Then precious children have their very own personalized Bible story to view and treasure. Check out how to do this by going to the BFC English website and selecting our Blog.
Helma’s Story
We know that many children around the world have come to Jesus through the ministry of BFC. Yet God is also reaching adults in ways we did not expect. We received a request from the Netherlands for permission to print one of our stories as part of a book. When we inquired further, we learned that the book was a life story of Helma. This dear lady had read our Lazarus Bible story (in Dutch) and committed her life to Christ. She then read the story to her dying father, and he committed his life to Christ! We rejoice for God’s working in this family. Do uphold them in prayer.

There have been so many opportunities lately to advance the outreach of the Bible stories that I have been hard-pressed to keep up with all the demands. We have made a commitment to attend the MissionFests across Canada next year (2015), so it’s going to get even busier.
But I am thankful I can still get some time in Florida each Spring - time with family and time to enjoy God’s creation. The trip to Florida in April was a little busy also, as I was able to distribute quantities of English and Spanish tracts to churches and ministries around Bradenton.
I am thankful that Mary-Anne, my wife of 42 years, stays by my side in this quest to introduce precious children around the world to our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you for praying for us as we live, love and labour for the Lord Jesus and share His saving Gospel with the world’s children. Greg
