PRAYER & PRAISE

As we take seriously the challenge of helping to reach the world’s children for Jesus, let us also rejoice that multiplied thousands of people are using the Bible Stories.

Our prayer is that the stories will be a kind of gateway to lead them to the Word of God. Pray for those dear fellow-servants who are engaged in the process of Bible translation.

Praise the Lord for reports of children being saved and for the part BFC has been privileged to play in that process. All glory to God for His grace and favour in using our combined efforts to bless others with salvation.
The reported statistics speak for themselves. But continue to pray that the BFC Board members, staff and all who come alongside to help will be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

We have prayed and God has brought us to our first hundred languages. As we pray now for the goal of reaching a thousand languages, let us be confident - remember the rhetorical question of Genesis 18:14a Is any thing too hard for the LORD?

And please remember in prayer every individual who accesses the BFC website. Most are unknown to us, but known and loved of God. May every heart open to His love and grace.

Be One in a Thousand

Bible for Children is calling for 1,000 volunteers who will Adopt a Language. We need help to grow from 100 to 1,000 languages. When someone Adopts a Language, hope begins for the children who speak that language. The volunteer learns about the people, finds a translator, emails churches and mission groups, and prays for those children. It is a challenging and exciting mission, but together we can do it!

The Lord has opened the way for many Asian and African languages, and we continue to walk through that door. We now have 23 languages from Europe, 62 from Asia and 20 from Africa.

But there is a much larger door ahead, the one that leads to 1,000 languages. Please pray - and consider being one in a thousand to reach the children of the world for Jesus.

Over 25 million downloads

Last year 5.4 million Bible stories were downloaded from our website. The total in the last 6 years is over 25 million. And of course the stories have been read and/or shared many more times after downloading.

About 25% of the stories are now accessed on tablets and smart phones, and we expect this percentage to grow. Mobile is the future in third world countries.

Bennin, Africa: We are of the Beninese and we speak French. I am working in a project that deals with the translation of the Bible in a tongue called the Saxwe. My wife is the instructor of children in our Church in Doutou. In concerns to better supervise children in the Church, is it possible for you to help us to have a few copies of the bible for children (about 100) so that it distributes to children. Heart to Heart

The 100 languages currently offered on the BFC site are going into most countries in the world over the Internet, on CDs and memory devices. They are going into restricted countries, and into secular places like schools and libraries. They are being used by churches, missionaries and families.

My heart was especially touched when one children’s teacher in Texas told us how 5 children in his class put their trust in Jesus at the end of one of our stories. Our objective is to reach children around the world where perhaps Bible resources are not so plentiful; but the Lord has given us an added blessing - He has also brought a great response in English speaking countries.

How wonderful that precious children are being reached for Jesus. Thank you, dear friends, for your prayers and encouragement. It is the Lord Jesus Himself Who directs us to “lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are already white for harvest.” (John 4:35b) Greg
